Looks like the big news hasn't finished dropping today. If on the one hand the release date of God of War Ragnarök has been confirmed, Forspoken, the open world action game from Square Enix , is postponed again.
Originally scheduled for October 11, 2022, The Adventures of Brave Frey will finally be available on PC and PS5 on January 24, 2023 .
This is the third time the game has been postponed. A decision that will certainly disappoint fans of the Japanese firm who have been waiting for Forspoken for some time now.
A strategic decision?
If the tweet from Square Enix and Luminous Productions is to be believed, all elements of the game are now complete, and it just needs a bit of polishing and optimization to get it ready for release on our machines and brackets.
So why is Forspoken postponed so far in time?
According to the developers, this is a "strategic decision" that was made with each of the teams involved in the creation and release of the game.
Forspoken in the shadow of God of War Ragnarök
A choice most certainly influenced by the announcement of the upcoming release of God of War Ragnarök which is already making a lot of noise. Note that The Callisto Protocol, the youngest – and also highly anticipated – by Glen Schofield, creator of the beloved Dead Space franchise, will also be released at the end of 2022, more precisely on December 2 .
A blow for the fans then, but if the last years have taught us anything, it's not to rush the release of a game. additional months to release the best possible version of their brand new opus. And then, there will obviously be plenty to do while waiting!
