Chivas Brothers, the Scottish whiskey branch of the French beverage group Pernod Ricard, has teamed up with Naughty Dog to offer a whiskey to fans of The Last of Us, and video games in general. Moth & Wolf is a blend that was casked in 2013 , before being bottled in 2022 , as part of Chivas Brothers' Digital Spirits project, which aims to open Scotch whiskey to a new generation of whiskey lovers. through film, television and games.

The goal of Digital Spirits, according to Kevin Balmforth of Chivas, is to "get closer to what excites fans", creating spirits influenced by modern forms of entertainment like video gaming. Balmforth is the brewmaster at the distillery who created Moth & Wolf, and describes himself as having been a "big gamer".
“I played The Last of Us all the way,” Balmforth tells Digital Trends . "I'm a big fan. It was a real collaboration between us and Naughty Dog. We worked on a lot of concepts, to see what would work for the [whisky] packaging and the liquid itself, how the flavors would work ."
Moth & Wolf will be available for pre-order on the official Digital Spirits website on an unspecified date. Pricing has not been announced, but Digital Spirits' previous whiskey, Topher Brophy's Barrelhound, is listed on its website at $45 a bottle .
