A few days ago, Konami tweeted a message of hope for those impatiently awaiting new video game productions around the famous horror license Silent Hill. As Halloween approaches, the company seems to want to thrill its players with an unprecedented transmission which will take place this evening, October 19, 2022 from 11 p.m. (CEST) . The latter must be the scene of crazy announcements about upcoming productions of the license.
But while many are waiting to discover the content of this livestream, it could well be that Konami made a slight mistake , by revealing the presence of the announcement of Silent Hill 2 in the description of the content…
Silent Hill 2, is it official?
It would be an error on the part of the teams in charge of the Silent Hill (Official) YouTube account that makes us doubt. Under the transmission in question from the channel, some users have observed the mention of Silent Hill 2 accompanied by a PlayStation Store link to the latter.
Since then, the people in charge of the Silent Hill (Official) YouTube account have removed the information about the second installment from the description. The mention of the potential remake of this legendary production should therefore not be there. If Konami reveals the imminent arrival of Silent Hill 2 this evening, the surprise will have been spoiled a few hours earlier. For now, the mystery remains (almost) whole.
Immediately after this discovery, the networks went up in flames and screenshots shot around the world. So, real involuntary spoiler or false alarm? The truth may well lie elsewhere.
The fake account?
Rather observant users have questioned the mysterious blunder because according to them, it would not be Konami who is hiding behind the YouTube account . At the time of this writing (around 2 p.m.) , the Silent Hill (Official) account has just over 1,000 subscribers and its only two videos are the supposed transmissions, which will begin around 10:50 p.m. tonight.
The fact that this account has so few videos/subscribers has made many viewers doubt, who now think of a prank from a malicious user , who would have taken advantage of the fact that Konami did not officially reveal a link to a "Transmission" livestream to create one on YouTube.
So who will you choose to believe? In any case, the companies actually in charge of the Silent Hill license have not yet confirmed this information and we will have to wait until this evening to find out if this channel really belongs to Konami and if a remake of the second opus is on the way … or not!
