This is unique: the Game Awards 2022 ceremony ended with the intrusion of a young man claiming a message about Bill Clinton. Since then, the one whose nature of the intervention remains to be determined has been arrested. We look back on the last strange seconds of the famous award ceremony.
A member of the public arrives on stage
After From Software's speech at the Game of the Year award reception for Elden Ring, a person bursts in to pick up the microphone and drop a message about Bill Clinton before being escorted offstage . The person had remained hidden until the right moment to retrieve the microphone at the end of Hidetaka Miyazaki's speech, before making his statement and taking everyone by surprise. The young man infiltrated the stage as the FS crew joined the stage, as you can see in the image below taken from Reddit .
The intruder arrested in stride
The villain did not have time to go very far, since a few minutes after the gap, Geoff Keighley indicated on his Twitter account that he had been arrested as soon as he left the stage. We can still note the ease with which the guy infiltrated the stage, accompanying the developers and tapping Miyazaki's shoulder, which allowed him to blend in perfectly with the group. The incident still stole the final few seconds of a particularly solid show this year, much better paced and full of announcements that are really pleasing.
