That's a nice new for all the melomaniacs: following patch 9.18, a brand new soundtrack will be added to Teamfight Tactics. This change won't impact your gameplay experience, nor will it give you a better chance to high roll. However, this is the kind of nice addition that actually brings life and entertainment within a video game. Take one instant and ask yourself why you fell in love with a particular game. Is it the gameplay? The graphics? The lore?
It's a whole. Everything matters when we talk about the player experience — and the soundtrack is without a doubt comparable to the role of a bass guitar within a rock band: we often forget about it until it gets bad or missing. Some pretty well-trained ears might have noticed that Teamfight Tactics' soundtrack was on the first hand the same since the beta release, and on the other hand quite... dull.
Well, don't worry about it, because Senior Sound Designer Bryan Higa pushed Riot Games to record new musical themes for the brand last franchise. While the sounds we were used to are actually synthesized, he decided to play the authenticity card and asked an orchestra to record the new soundtracks.
Carrousel, fights, shopping phases — each different phases should have its new musical theme, just to make sure that you're obliterating your enemy composition in the best possible atmosphere.
Bryan Higa explains that Teamfight Tactics soundtrack is split into three different stages:
- A first theme is played until one player gets eliminated from the game.
- A second one until there are only three players left.
- A third one until the game is over.
Do you think such an update matters? Were you completely satisfied with synthesized sounds? Do you think Riot should focus more on balances? Your opinion matters, feel free to share it with us within the comment section below!
