The Hearthstone Global Games (HGG) are back for the off-season after almost one year of absence! This tournament which celebrates the regional pride will showcase the best players from 32 countries around the globe from November 15 to December 22!

Denmark managed to win the competition, defeating the United Kingdom in the final in a tight match that ended in a fifth set.

  • 32 countries are invited
  • Each country will be represented by one team composed of two players
  • The first one is that country or region's highest monetary earner from the 2019 Masters Tour; the second one is chosen by Blizzard.
  • Competition starts just after Worlds 2019 and will last one month
  • Prizing: $75,000
  • Format: Conquest in Bo5 with a Shielding Phase

  • Week 1: November 15 — November 17 – 5:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. PST
  • Week 2: November 22 — November 24 – 5:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. PST
  • Week 3: November 29 — December 1 – 5:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. PST
  • Week 4: December 20 — December 21 – 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. PST
  • Championship Sunday: December 22 – 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. PST

Prizes

  • 1st → $20,000
  • 2nd → $10,000
  • 3-4 → $7,500
  • 5-8 → $3,000
  • 9-16 → $1,000
  • 17-32 → $625

To sum it up, the HGG are now organized in a shorter format with fewer participating countries: for instance, Austria and Israel won't be present. Players from these countries have castigated this announcement but Blizzard didn't announce any change.
