According to various social media posts by Infinity Ward staff, a new update to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be released in the coming days. Fixes will include the nerf of tanks, a new balancing of the 735 shotgun and adjustments to the killfeed.
There is a good chance that patch 1.09 will be deployed across all platforms next week.
Changes to Missions
Since the release of Modern Warfare, the various missions and challenges that allow operators to progress are full of bugs. Infinity Ward says this progress problem will be fixed to make players' quality of life more enjoyable.
Updates to the killfeed
In its current state, the killfeed is filled with various messages such as "Avenged by..." or " .... has left the game". This type of message can be unsettling for players, especially snipers that have their screens filled with unnecessary messages. To fix this problem, Infinity Ward will make some adjustments to the message flow in the killfeed.
Tank Nerf
In Ground War, many players opt to stay in a tank for the duration of the game. In their current state, tanks are far too difficult to destroy, making them extremely overpowered. It is expected that they will receive a nerf in the next update.
A new nerf for the 725
This shotgun could possibly be the most talked-about weapon in Call of Duty history. Despite being nerfed twice, the 725 is still the preferred choice of weapon throughout multiplayer. A third nerf is expected to reduce its power, putting it in-line with the other shotguns in its class.
