It must be said that Fortnite is still very popular among players and continues to win awards and trophies of all kinds. At the Game Awards ceremony held last night, Epic Games' battle royale was honored with the title of "Best Ongoing Game" of 2019. For this award, the game was against Apex Legends, Destiny 2, Final Fantasy XIV and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
The announcement of the winner was almost surprising. Since the arrival of Chapter 2 and the new map, Fortnite seemed to be going through some turbulence: loss of viewership, lack of communication that has angered the community, few nolvelty...
Fortnite isn't easily defeated. Taking advantage of the celebrations the day before, the game revealed in greater depth its ongoing collaboration with one of the most prominent franchises of the moment: Star Wars. Even in "decline", the game has this ability to build partnerships with great names of pop culture such as the Avengers, Batman, and now the Jedi.
It'll take much more time to bring down Fortnite — which ends this year by being awarded for its "longevity" at the Game Awards, and with a whole bunch of galactic new features.
