Descent of Dragons Decklists
Hearthstone : Deck Galakrond Warlock

Hearthstone : Deck Galakrond Warlock

Descent of Dragons has finally arrived in Hearthstone and with it the new Invoke mechanic, the new Galakrond hero for E.V.I.L classes and side quests.

Galakrond's Awakening brought new cards that directly impacted the meta.

Halfway between control and midrange, this new Warlock decklist owes its efficiency to its incredible versatility!

New cards: Nether Breath, Dark Skies, Dragonblight Cultist, Veiled Worshipper, Crazed Netherwing, Bad luck Albatross, Devoted Maniac, Shield of Galakrond, Kronx Dragonhoof, Dragonqueen Alexstrasza, Galakrond the Wretched

Early game

This is the low point of the game, as your deck doesn't have any minions to play before turn 3. In mulligan, it's best to keep in hand a Bad Luck Albatross or Dragonblight Cultist and a control spell such as Death Coil or Dark Skies. It is tempting to keep a Nether Breath in the hope of having a dragon, but it is a risk that doesn't often pay off and Lifeteal is irrelevant at this stage of the game. Your strategy will be to succeed in containing your opponent's few aggressions while starting to boost your Galakrond. Ideally, your starting hand should also be able to offer you a curved game plan. You will rarely be able to do better than a Devoted Maniac or a Shield of Galakrond on turns 4 and 5 respectively.

Mid game

It is usually at this point in the game that everything comes into play for you, as you will have to defend yourself while preparing for the late game. While you are inflating your Galakrond, your opponent will try to stop you by attacking you. The Crazed Netherwing will allow you to contain the waves of an over-confident aggro, while Zilliax can offer you a little respite. It's always better f you can magnetize it with SN1P-SN4P.

Galakrond is slow to show its face? Don't panic: if you have Kronx Dragonhoof don't hesitate to play it as its body will be useful.

You don't have it in your hand either? Then draw and bear the hits.

The whole point of the deck is its ability to contain the opponent's assaults without losing too many life points. Spells such as Plague of Flames and Sacrificial Pact combine perfectly with your minions who invoke Galakrond. The summoned Imps will serve as a sacrifice to eliminate the opposing minions and regain health points.

Late game

It's time to go wild. Overflow your opponent using Galakrond followed by Dragonqueen Alexstraza. The advantage of having already drawn a lot from your deck is that you can quickly use Zephrys the Great and Dragonqueen Alexstraza. Both can help you finish off your opponent or get out of trouble.

If you're not a fan of the Bad Luck Albatross, some lists use the Chaos Gazer. This is a good alternative especially against control decks, as the opponent can lose an important late-game card without being able to play it.
