Located in the Everfall territory, Starstone Barrows is a five-player Expedition (dungeon) in New World with a recommended player level of 35. It is an extension of the Amrine Excavation Site.
However, before you get stuck into the dungeon and all the mysteries it holds, you'll need to find a particular item that grants you access -- the Starstone Tuning Orb.
Be mindful that unlike other MMOs, the Starstone Tuning Orb is not a permanent key item. Your party only needs one to access the Expedition, and whomever begins the event will see their Orb consumed.
Do quests for William Heron
When you reach level 33, William Heron will offer you a new sidequest, Starstone of Shattering. He can be found upstairs in the tavern in Everfall, next to the Auction House.
You'll need to have completed the Foreman's Ledger quest first, which takes you into the first part of the dungeon -- the Amrine Excavation Site.
The quests tasks you with finding the Starstone Diadem within the instance, with a T3 Shatterstar Amulet on offer as a reward when returned.
Make sure you inspect everything as you progress through the dungeon, so you don't miss it!
Have a key thanks to Lau Kang
When you reach level 33, Lau Kang, Herbalist of Brightwood, will offer you a new sidequest -- Reaper's Locus.
This quest tasks you with defeating the mage within the Starstone Barrow and recovering the Reaper's Locus item, and you'll get a Tuning Orb in the process.
Upon completion, you'll be rewarded with a T3 Beam Eternal staff.
Get Additional Orbs Through Crafting
Stonemasons can also craft the Starstone Tuning Orb. They'll need to have a Tier 3 table, and be at least level 50 in the profession.
You'll need the following materials:
- Corrupted Fragment x10
- Steel Chisel x1
- Stone Brick x50
- Elemental Heart x1
These are found in Major Breach Caches, and as such require some effort to obtain.
You can get the Steel Chisel for 1,000 Faction Tokens and 200 Gold from your faction's rep.
Stonecutters can craft these provided they have a skill level of 50 and a Tier 3 table.
You'll need 4 Stone Blocks and 1 Sandpaper to craft one Stone Brick.
Stonecutters can craft these provided they have a skill level of 50 and a Tier 3 table.
You'll need 50 Water Motes, 50 Earth Motes, 50 Fire Motes, and 50 Air Motes to craft one Elemental Heart.
