Here's how to find and evolve Feebas into Milotic in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

A Pokémon that caused many players headaches in the originals, Feebas is no easier to obtain in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Here's what you need to know.

How to get Feebas

There are three prerequisites for obtaining Feebas:

  • You've obtained a Fishing Rod, ideally the Good Rod or better.
  • You've obtained the Surf TM
  • You've obtained the Strength TM

It's also recommended that you obtain the Defog TM, located at the entrance to the Great Marsh.

Make your way to Celestic Town, and leave via the west exit onto Route 211. Follow the route until you come to Mt. Coronet (North).

Use Strength on the rock north of the entrance and make your way round to the stairs. Head down and use Defog to restore visibility.

Head round to the lake. This is where things get complicated.

At any one time, Feebas can only be fished up on four tiles across the entire surface of the lake, with a 50% encounter rate on those tiles.

However, the tiles that have Feebas change every day, meaning you'll either have to get very lucky, or use tools and calculations to work out where it will be next.

How to Easily Find Feebas

Thankfully, there is such a tool to help you determine the possible squares.

To use the tool, you'll need that day's Lottery Number. To get it, head to the Jubilife TV Building and speak to the receptionist named Felicity.

Enter the Lottery ID into the tool. Consider taking a screenshot of the results, just in case you need to track it later.

As stated on the tool site, if there are no hooks on the tiles marked red, then the green tiles will contain Feebas. To check this, fish four or five times on a tile and see if it appears.

Also, should you fish with a Good Rod or greater, and your lead Pokémon has the Illuminate, Arena Trap, or No Guard abilities, then you're guaranteed a hook.

How to Evolve Feebas into Milotic

To evolve Feebas into Milotic, you'll need to raise Feebas' Beauty to a high level.

You can achieve this by feeding it Dry Poffins, which you can make from Chesto, Razz, Bluk, and Wiki Berries.

However, do not use all the same Berries! Use one each of the four listed above.

You can craft Poffins at the Poffin House in Hearthome City, or in Amity Square.

Simply feed Feebas the Poffins to raise its beauty to the desired level, and then level it up.

You can do this using a Rare Candy so you don't have to battle.
