Call of Duty 2020: Is the franchise returning to the Cold War?

As always with Call of Duty at the beginning of a new year, focus is already beginning to switch to what is to be released later in the year. According to multiple reports, the popular franchise is returning to the Cold War for what looks to be the fifth entry of the Black Ops franchise.

After being slated for a 2021 release, Black Ops 5 has been bought forward due to developmental issues at Sledgehammer Games, who were meant to be releasing CoD 2020.

According to Youtuber LongSensation, CoD 2020 will either be known as Black Ops, the same name as the 2010 release or Black Ops 5. We shall have to wait and see as we get closer to the release, expected for October 2020.

This would not be the first time that the CoD franchise has covered the Cold War having delved into that time period in the first Black Ops title but the fifth edition of the franchise is said to be even more brutal than Modern Warfare.

As always, this is purely speculation at this point and we won't hear any official information until the Summer at the earliest.

Stay tuned for the latest Modern Warfare and CoD 2020 news!
