June 2020 — This is the date rumors are spreading about the end of Fortnite.
It's important to point out that all this is obviously not true — Fortnite won't shut down in 2020.
Fake Epic Games accounts had already sent out tweets announcing the end of Fortnite in 2018. These rumors came back at the end of 2019, when the black hole event debate fuelled the idea that the end of the game was near.
And even if the game's popularity is decreasing, the colossal figures that the game has managed to generate in 2019 prove once again that it has a great future ahead of it, and that all this is nothing but a bad joke.
For the second time in a row, Fortnite remains the most profitable game of the year, with revenue reaching $1.8 billion. The game is generating more money than any other video game, through battle passes and a vast number of collaborations.
Players can be reassured: the game is not going to be over anytime soon.
However, you may wonder when the next game update will be deployed as it's starting to take a while, and we'll likely have the answer very soon.
