The third season of post-launch content will see brand-new Operators, weapons, maps, Warzone playlists and much more coming to Modern Warfare.
With dataminers already finding out the two new maps and two new weapons arriving on April 8th, there is going to be plenty of content for players to get stuck into.
Find everything that is coming to Modern Warfare as part of the new season below.
New & Returning Maps
Dataminers have found that a classic CoD map will be returning to Modern Warfare as part of season three. Backlot from Call of Duty 4 is returning to the franchise alongside Village.
Although Village is the name of a map from Modern Warfare 3, recent leaks have confirmed that this is a brand-new map, something that is desperately needed in Modern Warfare.
New Weapons
Like the new maps, dataminers did some digging and revealed that a new pistol and sniper rifle will be the two new weapons releasing in season three.
The SKS sniper is a semi-automatic sniper, joining the Dragunov as the second semi-auto rifle in its class. Whether it will be used more than the preferred AX-50 and the HDR is another matter.
The second weapon is the Renetti pistol. With similarities to the 1911 pistol, it is going to be interesting to see how this pistol fits into an already strong weapon class.
New Operator
The release image for season three appears to confirm the arrival of three new Operators to Modern Warfare, one of them being Alex, the main protagonist from Call of Duty: Ghosts.
The image shows two other Operators standing either side of him, which are likely to be added intravenously throughout the new season.
Warzone
Season three marks the beginning of the first full season for Call of Duty: Warzone. On March 27th, several upcoming playlists for the battle royale mode were leaked. The full leaked list can be found below:
- Battle Royale Duos (Teams of Two. Loot and Kill. Last team standing wins.)
- Battle Royale Quads (Teams of Four. Loot and Kill. Last team standing wins.)
- Battle Royale High Action (Loot and Kill. The Gas closes in faster, so get moving.)
- Battle Royale Shotty Snipers (Shotguns and Snipers only. Near? Far? Wherever…BR. There are no Loadout drops.)
- Battle Royale One Shot (Battle Royale with 1-shot Headshots and no loadout drops.)
- Realism Battle Royale
- Hardcore Battle Royale
It is expected that a handful of these playlists will be available to play when the new season goes live.
New Battle Pass
As always, the start of a new season means the arrival of a new Battle Pass.
Priced at 1000 CoD Points, players can work their way through 100 tiers of new content ranging from Operator outfits, weapon charms, calling cards and much more.
What the season three pass contains has yet to be revealed.
