In Fortnite, cars have always been part of the scenery. This season your interaction with them will be a little more exciting as you'll be able to get behind the wheel in battle royale mode.
Shortly before Patch 13.30 was released, Epic Games warned that the arrival of driveable cars in-game, originally scheduled for July 21, may be delayed for a few days. At the time of writing, the publisher hasn't announced a new release date.
A recent trailer datamining seems to indicate that several models will be controllable, and that each vehicle will have specific characteristics. Cars will probably run on petrol, which you'll be able to get from the gas stations on the island, or thanks to rechargeable jerry cans.
On the following image extracted by FireMonkey, you can see a type of ammo for a long time present in the files, but never used: Petrol.
By July 21, the water level on the map will have dropped considerably, which should allow enough roads and hills to emerge for you to show off your driving skills.
