The message is quite explicit, Sony would intend to delay the release of the PS5 in Europe, in favor of North America. It's via the console's official British website that we can glimpse the mention "Launch late 2020." This same mention hasn't been modified for the American website — which is aiming for a launch in November, according to experts.
This change is only half surprising. During a Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War trailer on August 31, two mentions were present to differentiate the two continents for the PS5 launch. It's all the more confusing for first-party games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales which should normally be released in the same time as the Japanese console.
In recent months, Sony seemed to alleviate the health crisis by accelerating the production of the PS5, which gave hope for a simultaneous launch for everyone. However, the plans of the Japanese manufacturer seem to be quite different, far from Microsoft's strategy with the Xbox Series X, which should launch first, and for everyone.
Sony had already launched the PS4 in the United States and Canada, two weeks before Europe. In any case, all that's left to do is to wait patiently for pre-orders, which shouldn't be long in coming.
