Sony gave the floor to the developers to talk about the SSD, the Tempest 3D AudioTech Engine and the haptic features of the DualSense in this post published on the PlayStation Blog.
The powerful SSD will allow players to enjoy their games without loading screens, or at least very short ones, but not only. As Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Creative Director, Brian Horton stated: "Beyond near-instant loading and fast-travel, the SSD and its speed allow us to more quickly load and display more detailed assets. This should lead to the city looking better than ever, and this is just the beginning for our team unlocking those possibilities."
On the other hand, the PS5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech engine, will offers highly accurate positioning and even more immersion. According to Resident Evil Village Executive Producer, Jun Takeuchi: "Audio is a key feature to really push the next-gen experience with PS5. It’s almost as if 3D Audiotech was made specifically with horror games in mind."
Those are very interesting features for the already promising PS5, as well as the whole next-gen gaming itself. All that's left is to wait for the release date.
