PlayStation consoles owe the majority of their success to the exclusive games that are offered on the platform. If the year 2022 spoiled us a lot in terms of quality exclusives, the year 2023 also seems promising.
Forspoken — January 24, 2023
Forspoken was one of the first PS5-exclusive titles we heard about. This fantasy action RPG follows a young New York girl named Frey (played by Ella Bulinska) after she is transported to the magical world of Athia.
If some of the things that we have seen in the various trailers, as well as the lack of communication around the game, have aroused the concern of the players, the combat and parkour system have something to arouse curiosity. It won't be long before you play Forspoken, as it will be available in about a month, January 24, 2023, on PS5 . In the meantime, a demo is already available on the PlayStation Store.
Final Fantasy XVI — June 22, 2023
Final Fantasy XVI tells the story of a man named Clive seeking revenge in the war-torn world of Valisthea. This new iteration of the Final Fantasy franchise feels much darker than what we're used to seeing from previous games in the Final Fantasy series, blending dark fantasy with political intrigue.
Fantasy XVI is scheduled for June 22, 2023 and it will be a PlayStation exclusive.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2—Fall 2023
Sequel to the excellent and acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man and Miles Morales , Spider-Man 2 is perhaps the most anticipated PS5 exclusive of 2023. In this installment, Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be playable, and new antagonists will also be introduced, such as Kraven the Hunter and Venom.
Insomniac Games announced that the game would be released in the fall of 2023 exclusively on PS5, without giving further details on the exact date.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth — Winter 2023
Square Enix has more than one trick up its sleeve for 2023, with a second major Final Fantasy game in the works. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth , the next installment of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake has been announced for late 2023 , and it will bring us back alongside Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Yuffie, Red and Barrett to experience the rest of the story of the revisited classic .
PSVR 2 — February 22, 2023
Even if it is not a game strictly speaking, the new model of virtual reality headset for the PlayStation 5 video game console developed by Sony, the PSVR 2 , is one of the most anticipated products of the year 2023.
Among the games offered on the machine, Horizon Call of the Mountain is an all-new story that sets aside Aloy's adventure to follow a new character in the Horizon universe, a series of games developed by Guerilla Games . The images revealed are really impressive, and the experience seems, in the trailer at least, more real than life.
Fantavision 202X, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, and The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR are among the titles that have been announced for PSVR 2, which will be available February 22, 2023.
Elden Ring is a little gem, there's no denying it, but there are some fairly old game mechanics that are very much missing… Especially one that could have been enormously useful given the large number of dragons to be slain. Do you see where we are coming from?
