Controller aim assist nerf coming soon to Rogue Company

The Rogue Company closed beta is in full swing, and now Lead Designer Scott Lussier has given us details of a new patch coming soon.

This update's purpose is to nerf the efficacy of aim-assist hip fire on controllers. After several weeks of monitoring the differences between controller and KB+M, Lussier has come to the following conclusion:

"Console players on average are more accurate within ten meters while hip-firing than PC players. We will actually bringing down the overall efficacy of aim assist while hip-firing for controller players."

The community seems to be divided on this decision. Most players think that cross-platform deactivation would be a better solution — as is already the case in Call of Duty, for example.

It's an internal debate: are controller players really privileged with the aim assist? Some will say yes, while others will say the opposite. The advantage of input-based matchmaking is that it would allow controller players to play only with other controller players.

For those who think that this change pushes Rogue Company towards being a KB+M game, Lussier reassured the community.

"The difference in accuracy between KBM and Controller is less than 2.8% on average. Controller Hip-fire was more accurate by 6-7% across the board. Sorry for the lack of clarifying (meetings and physical therapy)."

As the game hasn't been officially released yet, we can imagine that this change will be adjusted after the nerf, depending on future stats. The patch should be deployed in the coming days.
