Fortnite is getting RTX ray tracing graphics

Fortnite PC now supports RTX ray tracing graphics and NVIDIA DLSS technologies, for the lucky owners of the latest graphics cards.

Fortnite is getting RTX ray tracing graphics

Good news for Fortnite PC players: RTX ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS can be enabled on machines with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (or higher) and DirectX12.

What is ray tracing?

The advanced rendering capability of ray tracing allows new visual and lighting effects previously not possible in Fortnite. With our latest update, we’re delivering improved ambient occlusion, shadows, reflections, and real-time global illumination.

It's truly in the reflex mode that the main advantage of this technology lies. The RTX "On" significantly changes the perception of glare in large windows. This is almost an advantage in terms of gameplay, since without RTX the shapes of the reflections are limited to shapeless masses.

DLSS Nvidia

In addition to ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS DLSS boosts performance so you can enjoy ray tracing at higher frame rates. Fortnite features three DLSS options: Quality, Balanced, and Performance. These options control the DLSS rendering resolution, allowing you to choose the right balance between image quality and FPS.

Meanwhile, NVIDIA Reflex delivers the lowest latency in Fortnite. By integrating directly in Fortnite, Reflex Low Latency Mode aligns game engine work to complete just-in-time for rendering, eliminating the GPU render queue and reducing CPU back pressure in GPU intensive scenes.
