FFXIV 5.35 Patch Notes: Resistance Weapons Upgrade
To access the Resistance Weapons Relics upgrade you will first need to progress enough in the new side quest chain of the Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr story.
To start this quest chain you will need to talk to Marsak in Gangos (X:6.4 Y:5.7) and accept the quest called "Where Eagles Nest".
This quest chain is composed of ten quests.
Once players have progressed enough through the quest, they'll be able to accept the quest called "A Sober Proposal" from Stressed Soldier in Gangos (X:5.5 Y:5.3) to start upgrading their Resistance Weapons Relics.
Players will need to have completed the first stage of the Resistance Weapons Relics.
We'll make sure to upload a complete guide on how to upgrade your relic on our FFXIV Portal as soon as possible.
The Bozjan Southern Front has been added to FFXIV
The Bozjan southern front is a new 72 players instanced duty where players assist the Bozjan Resistance in reclaiming their homeland.
You can enter at level 71 but will first need to unlock it with a level 80 job Disciple of War or Magic.
To enter the Bozjan southern front players will need to complete the quest called "Where Eagles Nest" introduced earlier in this patch note.
To enter the Bozjan Southern Front players will need to talk to Sjeros in Gangos (X:5.5 Y:5.4), you'll be able to create or leave parties inside the duty without exciting the instance.
Your level and item level will automatically be adjusted to 80 and 430 regardless of your levels before entering.
Players will be able to summon mounts but not fly there.
In the Bozjan Southern Front enemies have an icon displaying their strength on the left of their name.
Battling in the Bozjan Southern Front will increase your Mettle and Resistance Rank, allowing you to unlock more content in the duty, after reaching rank five you may lose some Mettle if you die.
Encounters on the Bozjan Southern Front
Participating in Encounters will award Mettle, Allagan Tomestones (for level 80 jobs) and Experience (for level 71+ jobs).
There are two types of encounters: Skirmishes and Critical Engagements.
Skirmishes are what you'd call a FATE outside of the front and Critical Engagements are triggered by defeating specific enemies or skirmishes victories.
To join Critical Engagements players must request deployment via the Resistance Recruitment window, the button is located at the bottom of your resistance rank window.
There are three stages in joining a Critical Engagement: Registration (at random if more players are listed than there are available slots), Preparing for Battle, and Battle Commences.
It is possible to gain priority deployment for critical engagements. This can be accomplished in one of two ways:
- Combatant's Priority Deployment: Players who contribute to the initiation of a critical engagement may receive priority when registering for their next deployment.
- Quartermaster's Priority Deployment: Players may receive priority deployment in exchange for Bozjan clusters by speaking to the Resistance quartermaster at Utya's Aegis (X:14.2 Y:29.6). It should be noted that those with combatant's priority deployment are more likely to be chosen.
If the number of players requesting priority deployment exceeds the maximum number of combatants, they will be selected by lottery.
Bozjan Clusters
When defeating enemies on the Bozjan southern front, there is a chance players will get Bozjan clusters. These crystals can be traded to the Resistance quartermaster at Utya's Aegis (X:14.2 Y:29.6) for items and services.
You clusters are displayed on your Resistance Rank Window
Lootboxes
While battling on the southern front, players will also come across lockboxes. They can be appraised by the Resistance locksmith at Utya's Aegis (X:15.2 Y:29.7).
Lost Actions
Lost actions are a special type of duty action exclusive to the Bozjan southern front. They have various effects, including those used for attacking, healing, and reviving allies. Their effective use may turn the tide of battle in your fight against the IVth Imperial Legion.
Lost actions are unlocked after reaching Resistance rank 2 and progressing the questline.
Forgotten Fragments and the Lost Finds Cache
During their expeditions into the front, players will get "forgotten fragments." Players can exchange them with a Resistance appraiser at Utya's Aegis (X:15.3 Y:30.1) to get lost actions.
Lost actions are stored in the lost finds cache, which can hold up to 200 copies of any lost action.
To use lost actions in battle, they must first be moved from the lost finds cache to the lost finds holster. You can improve the capacity of the holster via your Resistance Rank and manage sets of ten lost actions.
You can use Lost actions by changing them into Duty Actions or as items for specific lost actions.
After progressing through the front quests you'll get a Fiel Record that will let you get sheaves of notes on the front that can be exchanged for items by talking to the Resistance historian at Utya's Aegis (X:15.0 Y:29.1)
