The situation is more or less the same for both manufacturers: we’re currently in the second wave of stock, retailers have already announced delays to their deliveries, and the possibility of seeing a third wave is seeming less and less likely, unless it would occur on some far-off date in the future. Some people are even profiteering off on the situation by creating fake sites capable of taking fake orders to capitalise on desperate customers.
As for the stocks themselves, both manufactures have stated that their production ratios lean heavily in favour of models with a disk-reader: Microsoft and Sony alike have a 3:1 ratio in favour of the model with a disk-reader. Therefore, over the next few months, finding the cheaper version of both consoles is going to be more difficult than their more expensive counterparts. At the current time of writing, we can only make one suggestion: be patient. We’ll update this page if the situation improves for either manufacturer.
As for the games themselves, the official Playstation website now includes pages dedicated to launch titles, with official preorder pages for gamers who have opted for a PS5 Digital. For Xbox, there’s a huge list of first-party games that will be optimised on the Series X.
