Elden Ring almost broke the internet when a new trailer was finally shown, following a long period of silence from developers From Software.
Now, more has been revealed following an update to the official website. There's new details of the story, which is a collaboration between game director Hideyaka Miyazaki and renowned fantasy author George R. R. Martin.
Among the changes, a new paragraph has been added that gives details of the gameplay, highlighting that we can take advantage of the environments and the weather to our to kill enemies.
While it doesn't go into detail, we can imagine that if it rains it will be more difficult to detect us, or if there are lightning bolts we can take advantage of them to make more powerful attacks.
Who knows what genius this will hide!
The text also suggests that we will have to make several decisions throughout the game that can influence the path to take.
"The choice is yours. Do you crave power, or do you seek understanding? Decide for yourself, then build your character as you see fit."
Sekiro did something similar at times, although it seems that this facet will be exploited more.
Another important addition is that they speak of "the guidance of lost graces", which aim to be hidden objects that will give us clues about development.
However, it will not be easy to get them, since it will be necessary to "re-take these lands from the Demigods through might and magic", although "you need not follow their path."
Regarding combat, they add and hint that it will follow the line of previous FromSoftware games, learning mechanics of the enemies and acting accordingly:
"Learn the art of combat , where you must read your enemy’s intentions and a well-timed dodge or parry could be the difference between life and death."
Death, as you can see in the full text, will be common in a game that promises to be difficult game -- although not as difficult as Sekiro.
Elden Ring will be available from January 22, 2022 .
