Gamescom 2021 kicks off this week with loads of announcements and new game reveals planned. There's also news for titles we already know are on the horizon, with Amazon's New World being one of them.
As a reward for tuning in to the Opening Night Live show tonight, New World players can pick up the exclusive Verdant Tapper skin. Here's how.
How to get the free New World Gamescom skin
Firstly, you need to tune into Opening Night Live on the official Gamescom Twitch channel, from 7:30pm BST / 12:30pm ET / 9:30am PT.
Secondly, you will need to have linked your Twitch account to your Steam account. To do this, go to Twitch > Settings > Connections.
Here you have options to link your account to the likes of Steam, Xbox, PlayStation and more. Select the Steam option and follow the instructions.
Thirdly, watch the broadcast for at least 15 minutes. After that, the Verdant Trapper skin should be added to your New World account. It's always safer to watch more of the broadcast, to be sure -- and why would you want to miss any of it, anyway?
As a note, this giveaway is the same as the skin offered during the live stream that took place on the first day of the New World beta, for those who already have it..
Following another short delay, New World will now be released fully on September 29. This delay is for the development team to work on feedback from the highly successful closed beta that took place recently, attracting millions of hours of play and ramping up anticipation for the MMO.
