The postponement sees Elden Ring move to a release date of February 25, 2022, a delay of a little over a month from the initial date.
The reasons given for the delay are that the depth and strategic freedom offered to players exceeds the developer's initial estimates.
This new release date means February is a rather stacked month. Horizon Forbidden West, Sifu, Saints Row, Life is Strange Remastered Collection, and a Destiny 2 expansion all release in the month.
As previously mentioned, players will still get the chance to participate in the Elden Ring closed network test, which is scheduled to take place between November 12-15.
Five different sessions are scheduled, for a total of 50,000 participants.
