Times are tough for mihoyo. The publisher of Genshin Impact must deal with a health crisis which is growing in China, and many employees of the company are affected, directly or indirectly, by the disease and/or by the measures taken by the government. There is no longer any possible doubt; the next 2.7 update will be delayed by several days or even weeks . The concern has gradually won over the community, which fears other major developmental delays.
Many players have particularly worried about the potential release of the game on Switch. MiHoYo's public relations manager for the West, Xin Yang, immediately wanted to reassure everyone; the port of Genshin Impact on Switch is still relevant.
A port that takes its time, but no cancellation
The rumor of a cancellation of the port of Genshin Impact on Switch was starting to gain momentum, and this official statement from MiHoyo granted to the Gonintendo site has the merit of relieving all fans. Indeed, some of the latest Genshin Impact trailers available on YouTube no longer mentioned the Switch in their description. The players therefore initially feared a change of course on the part of the publisher.
It is not so. MihoYo maintains its wish to see its flagship game soon on the Nintendo console.
Out of time
The port on Switch, however, seems to cause some problems for the Chinese publisher. From the launch of Genshin Impact in 2020, miHoyo had promised fans an arrival of the title on the Switch. Several sources even predicted a deployment on Switch "in the middle of 2022", but it is clear that this prediction will not come true. It will take (still) a little patience.
