If one of the two players dies during a confrontation, both must start over. Once a boss is defeated, the summoned player is automatically kicked out of their host's game. In fact, the invoked player is totally dependent on his host . It is therefore impossible for several Shardless to travel the Underworld together, from the beginning to the end of their adventure.

It is with the aim of getting rid of these limitations that a modder by the name of LukeYui has created a mod allowing you to enjoy a fully cooperative experience on Elden Ring. Available for download on NexusMods , the "Seamless co-op" mod has already been downloaded over 115,000 times.
But then, what does this mod bring to cooperation?
- If a player dies, they will respawn in the same world at the last Site of Grace where they rested and the session will not end.
- Defeating enemy bosses and clearing areas no longer sends players home.
- All walls/fog barriers that usually restrict the multiplayer area (along with their respective teleports) are gone.
- All players can Torrent (assuming they have the whistle) in a session together.
- All Grace Sites on the map will sync, making it easier for you to navigate the world as a group.
- When a player rests at a Site of Grace, the world state is reset for all players. This is necessary to prevent enemies from desynchronizing.
- Progression events completed in the online game will also progress the game in your own world.

Players are free to explore the entire game map (Downland, Underground, Legacy Dungeons, etc.) together, and can split up if they wish.
If one of the two players dies during a boss fight, he will go into spectator view, until his sidekick triumphs... or perishes.
The limits of the mod
It is important to specify some details related to this mod, because yes, not everything can be perfect. First of all, this is a beta release , so bugs will be quite common and players are encouraged to report them to LukeYui so he can work on future releases. In addition, in order to take advantage of this mod, it is necessary that both players have it installed.
As this mod introduces new elements not found in the base game, it uses a different save file than the normal '.sl2' extension. This therefore means that you cannot access your save files with the "Seamless co-op" in the base game, and vice versa. If you ever convert the mod save files back to the original game save files, you are at high risk of being banned . Because yes, like all developers, FromSoftware does not like mods.
