For several months now, Raven Software's Battle Royale, namely Call of Duty: Warzone, but also Sledgehammer Games ' FPS Call of Duty: Vanguard, have both benefited from the RICOCHET anti-cheat system, a system designed specifically for titles from Call of Duty.
The purpose of the latter is obviously to counter and eradicate all the cheaters that have been swarming for months now in the Battle Royale, and recently, RICOCHET has implemented a new strategy that is driving cheaters crazy.
RICOCHET frustrates cheaters again
The adage " the sprinkler sprinkled " is more relevant than ever, in any case this is what we could retain from the frustration of the cheaters in recent days on Warzone. Since Activision announced the arrival of Season 4 of Battle Royale, the studio wanted to take stock of RICOCHET and its latest updates, and according to the studio giant, the anti-cheat system has effectively put in place a new strategy to counter cheaters, but in a very infuriating way for them: disarmament.
If we learn that more than a million accounts have been deleted thanks to RICOCHET, we also learn that he is now using a lethal weapon to fight against cheaters which is in effect disarming them. This manipulation consists, as its name suggests, in removing the weapons of the cheater, the latter then finding himself completely empty-handed , and also looking a little stupid, it must be admitted.
But then, why does RICOCHET not ban directly and use some strategies of this type? Well, we would think, through these various manipulations, that the developers of RICOCHET want above all to subject cheaters to the same frustration that legit players can feel when they find themselves in front of them and that they can absolutely nothing TO DO.
RICOCHET available for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2
Good news for the next Infinity Ward titles: RICOCHET will, in addition to being deployed in Warzone, Vanguard, Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare, also be deployed for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and the upcoming Battle Royale Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.
For the future, we can hope that the developers of the anti-cheating system put in place new methods to punish cheaters, but also and above all that they delete all suspicious accounts once and for all.
As a reminder, Modern Warfare 2 will be available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC consoles on October 28 , and while waiting for its arrival, we should have access to its first beta around August 15. In addition, we will also have the right in the coming weeks to the first images of Multiplayer. One thing is certain, we are incredibly excited!
