Elden Ring: Go back in time and play the SNES version!

While we thought we had seen everything with the Gameboy demake of Elden Ring, the developers of the 64-bit studios have developed a more than retro version, on SNES! Immerse yourself in an Entre-terre of the 90s, for maximum nostalgia.

While last week, we discovered the demake of FromSoftware's latest game on Gameboy, it's the SNES's turn to meet the creatures of the Underworld. Let's discover together this unusual demake of Elden Ring, on SNES!

Between tradition and modernity

The SNES, or Super Nintendo for friends, is one of Nintendo's first consoles, released internationally from 1990 (1991 in France). Characterized by video game nuggets that have become true classics, such as Super Mario World or Donkey Kong Country , the console has had phenomenal success around the world. Today, it remains one of Nintendo's best-selling consoles (49.10 million units), and is greatly missed by 32-bit nostalgics.

It is for the latter that the 64bits studio works to produce demakes of modern games, in Super Nintendo versions and other retro consoles. Minecraft, Skyrim, or even Kirby, no less than seven industry-leading licenses have already had their demake, signed 64bits. Now it's the turn of one of the games of the year, Elden Ring.

The 64bit teams first place a context: "It's 1995 and Elden Ring has just been released on Super Nintendo". The game is perfectly reproduced in this demake and it is very easy to recognize key figures in the game such as Astel the offspring of the void, Miriel the turtle, or even Radahn the scourge of the stars, whom it is possible to fight alongside Alexander. In the description of the video, 64bits specifies that it was inspired by classic RPGs of the time, citing Final Fantasy VI, for example.

Unfortunately, the demake is not (yet) playable , and was created by the 64bit teams for video only. Perhaps, if the project is very successful, the developers will make it available to the general public. For now, we will have to settle for the Gameboy version, or why not the original version.

Who are 64bits?

This is a collective of animators and/or developers from the Netherlands. Niels, Nelis and Ryan produce numerous demakes and other creative video game productions that aim to "entertain gamers around the world" .

"We always dreamed of working together to create fun animations that the whole world could see. As proud gamers, we wanted them to be mostly about gaming or other wacky topics."

Their more than original creations mix modern and retro games for a more than surprising result! If you want to support them, or even follow the progress of their projects, it is possible to follow them on Patreon . In any case, their demake of Elden Ring seems to have gone around the world, and fans are already waiting for a playable version. Maybe someday…

The Nintendo Switch Pro in preparation? A silence that could say a lot!

Could a Switch Pro soon land? It was a reaction from Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa that set things on fire. The community is therefore impatiently awaiting an upcoming announcement from the Japanese company, when the period would be more than favorable...
