How to Play
Obviously, you need to own a copy of Diablo 3 and a Battle.net account that has not been suspended or banned. You will also need the Battle.net launcher.
- Step 1: creating a PTR account
Go to your Blizzard Account Management page and click twice on Diablo 3. You will then see a "Create a PTR account" option. If you already took part to a previous test of Diablo 3, your PTR account is already created and you can skip this step.
- Step 2: installing Diablo 3 PTR
Once you have created your PTR account, start the Battle.net launcher. On the left column, select Diablo 3. If the normal version of the game is already installed on your computer you should see a blue "Play" button — otherwise, it should be an "Install" button. Above this button, there is an unfolding menu: open it, then select "PTR: Diablo III"
- Step 3: Install, update and play
The title is already crystal clear: once the PTR version is installed and updated, you just need one click to play!
Duplicate a Character on the PTR
You can copy your characters from your Diablo 3 normal account to your PTR one. However, it is only possible to do so for the characters of one distinct region — and only each 24 hours. If you choose to copy characters from your EU account after having copied your characters from your NA account, these latter will be erased.
- Step 1: log on to the normal game, then disconnect.
- Step 2: log on to the PTR, create a new character, then go back to the main screen
- Step 3: in the upright corner of your screen, you should now see a "Copy on the PTR" button (this button won't appear until you created a new character)
- Step 4: select your region and click on copy. It will duplicate ALL characters from the selected region.
- Step 5: you will be disconnected from PTR. Re-connect and your duplicated characters will be available.
