While the black hole had been monopolizing our screen for more than a day and a half, it finally disappeared. It has been replaced by the usual message indicating that the servers are not responding. Downtime begins, with an installation from the Epic Games client.
This morning, it may be the end of the long wait for Fortnite players from all over the world! After about thirty hours of black hole, Fortnite became unavailable at 3am (PDT) — leaving its place to the deployment of the patch notes. This certainly bring Chapter 2 of the game.
Servers status
It is currently possible to connect to the game once the patch is installed.
Based on some files found by dataminers — and clues left by Ninja and Jordan Fisher on Twitter — the game will be available again onTuesday, October 15. Nothing official has so far been confirmed by Epic Games.
The 'Apollo' map, on which Fortnite Chapter 2 will likely take place, has seemingly been leaked. It will naturally be an island, of course, but will feature rivers and lagoons — perfect for driving boats!
