Following the coronavirus, E3 2020 was canceled, but online events were being prepared. However, no event, even online, will take place this year 2020 to make way for a more significant event in 2021.

Many gaming and non-gaming events have already been canceled with the virus outbreak, such as the GDC (Game Developers Conference). With a state of emergency having been declared in Los Angeles, ESA, the organization that manages E3, is faced with a difficult decision.
