E3 2020: Online events cancelled and E3 2021 dates

Following the coronavirus, E3 2020 was canceled, but online events were being prepared. However, no event, even online, will take place this year 2020 to make way for a more significant event in 2021.

E3 2020: Online events cancelled and E3 2021 dates

E3, the biggest gathering of video games in the world, was canceled last March because of the current health crisis. In an attempt to fill the gap in this event, staff and editors have attempted to work on an online event, much like the PS5 and Xbox Series X presentation conferences we have seen lately. However, nothing is going as planned.

"Given the disruption brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be presenting an online E3 2020 event in June, instead, we will be working with exhibitors to promote and showcase individual company announcements, including on www.E3expo.com, in the coming months. We look forward to bringing our industry and community together in 2021 to present a reimagined E3 that will highlight new offerings and thrill our audiences."

Nevertheless, individual representations of publishers are in preparation, for Microsoft, Ubisoft, Devolver Digital for instance.

Dates for the next edition of E3 are circulating, however, the representatives refuse to give more information concerning this event which could take place in June 2021.
