The Patch 1.15 update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare went live across all platforms on February 25th. Various bug fixes, an update to the CDL Playlist, the introduction of brand-new multiplayer playlists and the arrival of new Gunfight map Bazaar were just some of the highlights from the latest update to the game.
In among all the new additions to the game, some eagle-eyed players have spotted something different about the recently-added "Classified" tab on the main menu of the game.
If you look very closely, behind the "Classified", there is a small message that says "transmission incoming" implying that a potential announcement regarding the heavily rumoured battle royale mode could be imminent.
According to the latest leaks and reports, "Call of Duty: Warzone" is going to be the second Call of Duty battle royale title for the franchise, following on from Blackout which was released on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
If rumours and reports are to be believed, Warzone is set to be released as a standalone product, meaning players that don't own Modern Warfare will be able to download it as a separate entity. It also gives the developers the opportunity to continue supporting the title after COD 2020 has been released. For Blackout, support for the BR has recently ceased as Treyarch is rumoured to be the developer of the 2020 edition of the game slated for release in October.
Warzone is expected to be released in early March.
