PlayStation: 10 cult PS4 and PS5 licenses that you won't find anywhere else!

Let's start by putting the title's "nowhere else" catchphrase into perspective, since Sony PlayStation has been offering its console exclusives also on PC for a few years now, whether on Steam or the Epic Games Store. This is especially the case for licenses that appeared at the end of the generation and a lot of intellectual property has not yet made its way to our bikes . This is a strategy wanted by Sony, in order to attract an audience that may not be used to the manufacturer's big series.

  • In this article, we'll take a look at the biggest chunks of Sony's video game division portfolio, with a list that'll be updated with new entries in each series, or promising new license. We also take the opportunity to take a tour of PlayStation Studios and their recent projects.

PlayStation and its PC port policy

Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War 2018 are the best witnesses of Sony Playstation PC strategy. Basically these games are released on Steam and EGS if a sequel has already been announced on home consoles. Horizon Forbidden West was released a few months after Horizon Zero Dawn and the same goes for God of War Ragnarok, with a Steam release earlier this year for God of War 2018 in its Steam version. As we mentioned above, this allows the manufacturer to take its powerful licenses out of the PlayStation ecosystem and offer them to a much wider audience.

New PlayStation Plus

For the past few weeks, Sony has transformed its PS Plus offer to finally thwart the Xbox Game Pass and its implementation dating back several years. The Japanese manufacturer's response will take time to find its feet, but if it is regularly supplied with retro novelties and more recent games with PlayStation connotations, then there is a way for competition to take place in the medium term. For the moment, the bouquet of offers is too vague and the XGP already has a huge lead in terms of registered members, catalog and clarity of the service: we'll talk about it again in 5 years.
