Since the beginning of Fortnite Chapter 2 and the arrival of the new island criss-crossed by rivers, water has been an important part of Epic Games' battle royale gameplay. Using the latest patch 12.61, dataminers have extracted a file which is very much reminiscent of underwater swimming.
In the video above, we can see a swimming animation, which doesn't correspond to the standard crawl we've been using in Fortnite since Chapter 2. The movements of the avatar clearly suggest underwater swimming.
In parallel to this, other code elements and filenames were found during the same day, also referring to the underwater theme.
Flood theory is being developed day by day and will probably start at the Agency. It's there that Midas has developed his enigmatic machine, which is "ready" in view of the files revealed since the arrival of v12.61.
At the time of writing, it's difficult to say whether this underwater swimming will be effective only during the Doomsday event or whether it will be a permanent feature starting from Season 3, scheduled for June 4. Let's remember that during Travis Scott's concert, it was at one point possible to swim "underwater" alongside the oversized rapper.
