Patch 12.61 is the last patch to be released in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2. It's a minor update for now, but it sets the stage for the Doomsday event, scheduled for this Saturday. Apart from a few fixes, it's mostly a nerf of the aim assisty system that many players were waiting for. It's clear from the first reports that the aim assist is still there.
Change on the first storm circle
Midas is beginning to tame the storms and this is directly visible in the unranked games. The first storm circle no longer surrounds the map regularly and depending on the game, it covers areas sometimes outside the mini map. This doesn't change anything as the circle size reduction happens on the map afterwards.
Bug fixes
- Fixed a bug on a sports-themed Outfit that caused the number changes not to be applied correctly.
- Dragacorne glider can now be fully refunded, as promised by Epic Games.
- Fixed a bug on IOS that could cause the game to crash.
No change for aim assist
According to initial reports and findings from players, the functionality of the aim assist on PC controllers has NOT been changed by patch 12.61. Epic Games had explained that they wanted to resolve this point of conflict in the community via the patch.
