The latest patch for Returnal goes live imminently, and contains several quality of life fixes designed to improve players' experience in the roguelike shooter.
These include a fix to a patch developer Housemarque released earlier this week, which saw players' save files become corrupted and unusable.
After another patch running those changes back, Housemarque have now released a more significant patch that should put these issues to bed.
However, they do still advise PS5 players to disable auto-update on their consoles, as a protection aganst losing progress in their runs. For a game that has no traditional save system, and can take several hours to complete runs, this is a bit of a catastrophe.
Players have previously taken to social media to request a more traditional save system, a topic that has divided the community. Housemarque have no plans to alter the system at this time.
