We hope for you that you have finished the last DLC of Boderlands 2: Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary, because it updates all the necessary information and prepares you for Borderlands 3. Besides, for those who didn't know it yet, our dear Scooter is no longer... Make way for Ellie's Catch-A-Ride. The latter took over her brother's vehicle system and brought it up to date.
Catch-A-Ride: Your new best friend
This is where you scan, customize and improve your vehicles. The system is much more complete than in Borderlands 2. In this game, you will be able to loot enemy devices in order to recover parts and skins for your Catch-A-Ride. How does it work?
You can use the interaction button near a vehicle of interest to 'borrow' it. The driver's place is then taken in the 'car' (by ejecting the enemy driver if there was one). Then simply return the vehicle to our Catch-A-Ride, which will scan it to retrieve what it was made of. This is how we unlock new parts for our own motorized vehicles.
List of Vehicles
- Outrunner: It is fast, moderately strong and relatively easy to handle.
- Technical : Slower than the rest, it is very strong and violent.
- Cyclone : It's the new one. It is very fast, handy and fragile.
To be noted:
- The vehicle combat experience has been improved through, among other things, the transition to Unreal Engine 4 and the development of new vehicle physics mechanics.
- The quick trip to our vehicle is possible directly from our personal menu.
- For now, the developers have said that skins can be collected on looted vehicles, thanks to NPC rewards, after completing challenges (much like B2's Badass system).
Vehicle Customization
The three known vehicles are fully customizable. Here is what can be modified and customized on the latter:
- Body Type (Vehicle type),
- Driver Weapon,
- Turret weapon,
- Mods,
- Wheels,
- Armor,
- Material (skin theme),
- color pallet.
