Just under a year ago, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford announced that support for Borderlands 3 's cross-platform Playstation would end, without giving any explanation. Last month, publisher 2K Games told us that the decision would be revoked, without giving a specific date.
Even if today the vagueness still persists, we have some additional information on this case.
What do we know about this evolution which is not one?
Occurring on Twitter on April 22, the announcement really comes out of nowhere and no one expected it. While most license players are busy on Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and minds are turned to the studio's recently unveiled future game , Borderlands 3 had been somewhat forgotten.
A priori that did not stop the creators of Borderlands who again offer a total crossplay between the following platforms: PS4 , PS5 , Xbox One , Xbox Series X|S , Stadia and PC .
The official date is not yet known but the tweet talks about spring, so the wait shouldn't be long . In a few weeks, you will be able to resume your games with people from all walks of life, thus strongly encouraging multiplayer.
However, not all players are thrilled. First of all a part of the community finds it unpleasant to play with PC supporters who have access to mods (even in multiplayer) that can ruin the gaming experience, but especially people still on PS4 and Xbox One worried about the interconnection with the next gen which is much faster thanks to the SSDs they are equipped with.
