For the time being, your chosen profession allows you to participate in Fortresses and obtain special skills. There are three types of enemies in Fortresses: Evil Forces, Beasts and Curiosities.

The Aurors (complete guide) are veterans who can defeat their enemies easily by combining their innate leadership with the art of casting lots of spells. The Aurors are very effective against the Evil Forces.
In other words, you will be better able to fight evil creatures like Death Eaters.
Do you dream of taking care of animals like Hagrid or Norbert?
Trained in the care and preservation of magical creatures, magizoologists (complete guide), during battles, focus on healing their teammates. They are more effective against Beasts.
This job makes it easier for you to fight creatures like spiders or werewolves.
Like Professor McGonagal, come and teach at Hogwarts!
Teachers (complete guide) are very skilled spell casters who use their deep magical knowledge to weaken Calamity while supporting their teammates. In short, it's a nice mix between the Aurors and the Magizoologists.
They are more effective against Curiosities: Cornish elves for example.
Each of these jobs will open the doors to a panel of skills and challenges. By collecting scrolls and spell books, you can participate in lessons specific to your profession and increase your knowledge.
It is possible to change jobs at any time.
