With there being so many different types of egg in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, it can be a little frustrating to find that you've hatched a monster you may not have wanted.
As such, we've put together a guide to the different eggs and the monsters you can expect from them, based on colour and pattern.
Eggs by zone: Pay attention to progression
While we list all eggs available in each region of Monster Hunter Stories 2, be mindful that eggs found change depending on your progress in the story. Some eggs can only be found in particular areas of a region, or rely on local wildlife to help, while others can be found almost everywhere when unlocked.
A simple rule to follow is this: if you have killed a monster, you can find its eggs, but not before.
The final chapter will expand the range of eggs that can be found in different regions. These are listed on a separate page. The same goes for some areas that you can't reach until a certain point in the story, to prevent you from searching for an egg that you have no chance of finding. Also., some species don't have eggs or associated monsties, so they are not listed here.
If you come across a royal monster such as the Tigrex, you can find its egg by forcing it to fall back at the end of the fight. Be mindful that these creatures are truly formidable.
Hakolo Island Eggs
There are relatively few monsters available in the first chapter, with your team severely limited at the start.
