After a highly successful comeback with a 2016 reboot, the DOOM franchise once again rises from the ashes in the form of the hotly anticipated DOOM Eternal.
Today, Bethesda and iD Software dropped a new trailer rich in thrills and gore. In just a few moments of gameplay we can already see a profound attention to detail in the level design of the maps that will host the Doom Slayer.
Among the most obvious new features, we discover the Marauder and the Gladiator, two new enemies that will have to be taken down during the adventure. There are also a few changes on the weapons side, with the rocket launcher now capable of firing three rockets in succession and a shield that can be activated on command.
We also discover new game environments inspired by real places: subway stations, crashed planes, and more.
The story of DOOM Eternal will take us to Hell, Phobos, and Earth, as it was the case in DOOM II: Hell on Earth, 26 years ago. The transitions between the different levels will take place aboard a ship that serves as a hub for the Slayer.
Doom Eternal comes to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on March 20, 2020.
