Zelda BotW, Video walkthrough: Beating the Lynel easily

Note: Be careful, this video contains many spoilers (Goron and Gerudo dungeons).

Tips & Advice

  • Its biggest weak point: like many enemies in the game, an arrow between the two eyes will stun him for a few seconds. That's when you have to run at it, equip a two-handed sword, then make a charged attack until your stamina is exhausted. The right time is when it fires fireballs and creates hot drafts: this will allow you to be thrown into the air and start the assault with a slow bow.
  • All Lynels shoot elementary arrows: if you can keep them at a certain distance, be careful not to move too far away, their bows are often very powerful (look at the loot at the end of the video).
  • There are loopholes in the Lynel's defense: for example, when it spits fire, you can get as close as possible, turn around and give him a few free hits when it's finished throwing them.
  • Its main openings occur when it charges: they are big opportunities for precise dodges and therefore combos that will cause a lot of damage.
  • Why fight it? Because they release very good bows capable of using 3 arrows at once (when actually it only uses one). It also provides unique monster loots, always good to take.
