Rogue Company logically follows its 2020 roadmap by unveiling the game's new rogue: Dahlia. Players aren't surprised since a few days ago leaks had already brought to light this "mastermind of squad-based tactics".
Her role will be one of support and for good reason: her ability allows her to link with an ally for the duration of the round. While that ally is downed players can reactivate this ability to immediately begin reviving if Dahlia is within 30m.
Her passive ability adds to this competence. It inherits Dahlia's linked ally's passive for the duration of the round. She can basically get someone else’s power which will create lots of versatility in her kit.
For example, if Dahlia is linked to Lancer then she can reload her weapon by doing a dodge roll — as the world champion freerunner can do. Players will have to think before binding themselves to an ally: this special link cannot be changed during a round.
In addition to her ability, the other key element that will certainly make Dahlia a key character when the competitive mode will be deployed is undoubtedly her SMG — called Objection.
This weapon is extremely powerful in close-combat and it has a very fast fire rate, which can make her a flanker. On the other hand, her MX-R will be useful for long-range combat as it looks pretty much like a rifle.
To make a comparison, her SMG is similar to that of Gl1tch while her rifle is much more similar to that of Dallas.
To go with this equipment, she'll be able to use smoke and frag grenades. If you want to use her pistol, especially in early games, know that it's the one that many rogues have and is rather effective.
Concerning the perks, she has six of them. If Dahlia uses her SMG, it will be almost essential to buy Replenish for her to reload her weapon as soon as she knocks out an enemy. If in addition to that she has the role of flanker, Cloaked will make her immune her to being revealed by enemies.
Here is the complete list of her perks:
- Replenish
- Cloaked
- Padded Steps
- Shredder Rounds
- Stalker
- Tenacityrog
Her hybrid role of a support that can do a lot of damage will make Dahlia a hot pick in the coming weeks. Her versatile kit makes her a pretty fun character since it will make almost every game unique.
If she proves to be too effective in-game, no doubt Rogue Company developers will patch her in the next update.
