We were fortunate to have an exclusive interview with Bart Koenigsberg, Brand Director, Scott Lussier, Lead Designer, and Trevor Williams, Vice President of Hi-Rez Studios, to learn more about upcoming releases — which are expected to be deployed soon in Rogue Company.
One of the major additions of Phase 3 is the ranked games. Players have been waiting to be able to climb the ladder for a little while. However, we still don't know much about how this competitive mode will work in the future.
We can assume that the ranks would be similar to Paladins' one. However, the developers told us that the format wouldn't be exactly the same, and that we'll be able to enjoy a brand new ranking system.
After the implementation of these ranked games, it would be interesting to see an esports scene emerge from the TPS. The ranked games could serve as a test before the possible creation of a professional league. The information on the subject isn't yet available. That's why we asked the developers.
In addition, a new reward system will be implemented: the Weapon Mastery. Just like Rogue Mastery, it will be a level-up system based on the fact that the more you use a specific weapon, the more experience it gains. You'll then unlock accessories to be able to create a gun with characteristics that match your gameplay.
For some time now, Rogue Company has been doubling its efforts by partnering with 100 Thieves and Dr DisRespect. It made sense to find out more about possible new collaborations that could lead to new rogue or map creations. The answer of Hi Rez's Vice-President isn't clear but promises good things for the future.
Based on this interview and the responses given, it's undeniable that good things are going to happen in Rogue Company in the coming weeks/months. Thanks again to Bart Koenigsberg, Scott Lussier and Trevor Williams for taking the time to answer our questions.
