After a long-awaited announcement on Tuesday April 19 during which Blizzard unveiled Wrath of the Lich King Classic , the second expansion of the Classic version of World of Warcraft, the Beta of it finally opens this Wednesday, June 22 2022 to players selected by the American publisher. This test session begins almost precisely one year after the deployment of Burning Crusade Classic.
To make sure your account has been selected (or not) when the Beta becomes available, restart your Battle.net Launcher and check the "Version" tab to see if you have a "Wrath of the Lich King Classic Beta" tab.
WotLK Classic Beta Content as of June 22, 2022
As with each World of Warcraft test phase, not all of the content offered by the extension is available from the start. This first test phase will therefore focus on the first elements that players will be brought to the game. to encounter during their journey in Northrend, from the first zones to the first dungeons, naturally passing through the improvements and changes made to most classes.
Here is what is currently testable:
- Players can progress up to level 76
- The entire area of Borean Turndra
- The entire Howling Fjord area
- The entire area of Dragonblight
- Utgarde Dungeon (level 68 to 72 dungeon) in Howling Fjord
- The Nexus (level 69-73 dungeon) in Borean Tundra
- Azjol-Nerub (level 71-74 dungeon) in Dragonblight
- The new features brought by the extension to all classes (except those of the Shaman and the Warlock)
Take the time to (re)discover all this content if you feel like it (and lucky enough to have been selected), remember to report even the most minor bugs that you encounter using the tool suggestion available as soon as you arrive in game in the middle of your screen (it can be moved).
Have fun, enjoy, and make this experience as useful as possible in order to make Wrath of the Lich King Classic the most enjoyable expansion there is when it finally rolls out later this year! Your feedback is important for players to have an optimal gaming experience in the months to come!
And don't forget: don't succumb to fraudulent emails for lack of patience if you haven't received access to this first test session!
