Final Fantasy 7 Remake Walkthrough: Chapter 6
0

There's plenty to do in Chapter 6 of Final Fantasy VII Remake as you make your way to Mako Reactor 5. You'll pick up some important Materia, acquire the Chocobo & Moogle Summon, raid a dozen chests, and get hold of a Music Disc by following our walkthrough.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Walkthrough: Chapter 6

We're probably in the most labyrinthine area of Final Fantasy VII Remake, but you'll see, it's not so complicated. In fact, if you want to make sure you don't get lost and miss anything, several visual clues should help you during your exploration of the slum: the cables running along the railings are different colors, depending on the area you're in.

Similarly, the letters and numbers of the areas should help you see more clearly in this little maze. Please note, though, that one of the best Materia in the game is in this chapter: Elemental Materia

Materia

Elemental Materia

You will soon see it as you advance through the area and it's even the subject of a side quest. Finally, you will only be able to access it towards the end of the exploration of this zone, when you will have to go and turn off the third sun. Before you go up to activate the switch of the latter, you will see that it's possible to go down, but be careful, on this lower floor, two Queen Grashtrikes will block your access to the Materia: it's time to slap all your MPs in ice spells, they are scrappy opponents!

MP Up Materia

This one is out of reach. After the second sun has gone out and as you head towards the third, pay close attention to what's around you on the lower floors, until you find a control console for a removable catwalk just above your head. Lower it down to reach the Materia.

Ennemies

Security Turrets

As in Chapter 5: Use your best lightning spells to beat its bursts of rocket fire.

Sentry Gun Prototype

Barret will be happy to blow them up for you! Like all the junk heaps in the game, these turrets are sensitive to lightning, but no matter, the gust from Avalanche's leader should be enough to knock them down.

Blugu

These fish are weak to ice and are not very resistant anyway. However, beware of their bubble breath, which is particularly heavy, since it puts the character who touches it to sleep.

Weakness: Ice

Terpsicolts

Switch to Punisher Mode and stand guard as for the fighters: when they come at you in a spiral, the counter should stop them in their tracks and weaken them. After it's up to you, either you chain the combos in Punisher Mode, or you take advantage of its weakness and use ice spells.

Weakness: ice

Grashtrikes Queen

You will have to face two of them simultaneously to access the Elemental Materia. All your team must have an ice Materia: concentrate your spells on one of them, always keeping a good distance. The super-powerful combo of Tifa's new weapon should also help to occupy and make both of them wobble simultaneously. They're pretty tough enemies, so pay attention to your HP gauges!

Choco/Mog Summon

Just before leaving for the Mako reactor, don't forget to go to the room unblocked by the restored power, just to the right of the main elevator: this little side phase will simply allow you to retrieve the only truly hidden summon of the game, Chocobo & Moogle.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Summon Guide: Chocobo & Moogle

Here's everything you need to know about how to get the Chocobo & Moogle Summon Materia in Final Fantasy VII Remake — the cutest summon of all!

Once all your objectives have been accomplished, head for the elevator leading to Reactor 5 where the fearsome mechanical boss of the Shinra, Air Buster awaits you.
