Yesterday Square Enix debuted the final trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, an enhanced version of the game for PS5 that includes Episode INTERmission - a two-chapter story that centres on Yuffie and her battle with Shinra's Advanced Weaponry Division.
However, buried within the credits of the trailer was the nugget that the episode would be "available on PS5 at least six months earlier than any other format".
Like Remake itself is console-exclusive to PlayStation, this indicates exclusivity for Sony's next-gen console. Remake launched in April of last year, and is still not available on any other platform than PlayStation 4 at the time of writing.
The new exclusivity could suggest that Remake will come to other platforms, as a sort-of 'ultimate edition that includes Intergrade, after this six month period lapses in early December. However, nothing official has been revealed by Square yet.
The trailer showed off some more of Yuffie's adventures against Shinra executive Scarlet, as well as a glimpse at a new summon - Ramuh.
It also shows off Remake's reimagining of the Fort Condor minigame, in which players must defend the reactor's giant condor inhabitant from oncoming Shinra troops. In this version, it appears to be some kind of tower-defense board game, rather than the characters actually being at Fort Condor itself.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade lands on June 10, priced at $69.99, while Episode INTERmission can be purchased separately for $19.99.
