The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD has 24 Heart Pieces to be found in total. For every four you collect, you'll increase how much life you have by one Heart.
There are seven Heart Pieces in The Sky. Here we'll show you where to find them.
First Heart Piece - Pumpkin Landing
- Location: On the chandelier in the Lumpy Pumpkin restaurant
- Prerequisite: None
For this, you need to head up to the second floor. You'll see a Heart Piece and some Rupees atop the chandelier hanging over the room.
Keep rolling into the balcony you find there, and eventually the chandelier will drop to the ground. Collect the Heart Piece.
Second Heart Piece - Pumpkin Landing
- Location: In the Lumpy Pumpkin restaurant
- Prerequesite: Obtain the Harp from the Lanayru Mining Facility
This Heart Piece requires you to have obtained the one above, from sending the chandelier crashing to the ground.
Once you've obtained the Harp, return here and speak to Pumm. The restaurant owner will ask you to complete some errands, in payment for breaking his chandelier earlier.
First deliver the soup to Eagus, which needs to be done in under five minutes so it stays piping hot. He can be found in the Knight Academy's Sparring Hall.
Then, Pumm will ask you to carry some pumpkins to a shed, without dropping them.
The last thing you'll need to do is speak to Pumm at night, and he'll ask you to play your Harp to augment Kina's singing performance.
Once all three of these tasks are complete you'll earn the Heart Piece.
Third Heart Piece - The Sky
- Location: Island south of the Faron Woods entrance
- Prerequesite: Activate the Goddess Cube outside the Skyview Temple
This Heart Piece is fairly straightforward. If you've activated the Goddess Cube outside Skyview Temple, then you can head to a small island just south of Skyloft and the entrance to Faron Woods.
Fourth Heart Piece - The Sky
- Location: Beedle's Island, in the northeastern corner of The Sky
- Prerequesite: Activate the Goddess Cube near the Temple of Time in Lanayru Desert
While the chest containing the Heart Piece itself is easy enough to get to, it's the Goddess Cube at the Temple of Time that needs work.
To activate it, you need to strike it with a Skyward Strike while riding past in a mine cart, which can take some practice and timing.
Fifth Heart Piece - Fun Fun Island
- Location: Fun Fun Island
- Prerequisite: Return Dodoh's party wheel
This Heart Piece has a two-fold, rather long-winded solution.
First, you must return Dodoh's party wheel, which can be found in Lanayru Desert next to the entrance to Lanayru Mine.
Here, you'll have to activate a Timeshift Stone, which will reveal some vines that you can climb. Work your way across the ledge to the party wheel you're looking for.
Once you've returned this to Dodoh, he'll open up the Dodoh's Drop minigame. Now all you need to do is achieve a perfect score in this skydiving challenge...
To do this, you'll need to a) drop through all five rings, avoiding balloons and the like, to give you a 10x multiplier, then b) land on a 50 Rupee space to earn the Heart Piece.
Sixth Heart Piece - Bug Island
- Location: Bug Island
- Prerequesite: Activate the Goddess Cube at the Volcano Summit
Once you've activated the Goddess Cube atop the Volcano, head to Bug Island.
On the southern side of the island you'll be able to run off a ledge and drop down, where you'll find the Heart Piece.
Seventh Heart Piece - The Sky
- Location: Volcano-shaped island near Lanayru portal
- Prerequesite: None, but Clawshots recommended!
For this one, you'll first need to activate a Goddess Cube found in Faron Woods. You'll find it on a root on the eastern side of the Great Tree, with a Clawshots hook above it.
You can also reach it without this useful tool, by climbing or warping to the top of the tree. Then jump off the platform at the right angle to reach the Cube. This may take some practice to land correctly!
Once done, head to the volcano-shaped island right near the Lanayru portal. Fall through the hole, or use your Clawshots, to reach the chest containing the Heart Piece.
